Poetry Pause - Amusement Park

Rides, games,
scare me, thrill me,
laughs and screams
and wheelchairs.
Children
point, giggle, smile
to watch the fun of others.
Healthy arms hold them,
their eyes shining bright
as they wait in line
for the Ferris wheel
or the train ride
or the slow boats.
Tonight
dreams of children
will shadow the stars--
roller coasters, bumper cars,
and fast, wet water rides...
All will dream.
There will be no wheelchairs
at the park.
